INTERFAITH IFTAR

Interfaith Iftar aims to bring together various youths from faith and non-faith communities to engage in dialogue, followed by having a meal together at sunset during Ramadan.

First run in 2017, the dialogue tool of choice was a Scriptural Reasoning session themed ‘Neighbours’.

In 2018, the event was repackaged as the ‘Salaam-Shalom Iftar’, as a response to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and as a show of peaceful Jewish-Muslim relations and solidarity. Individuals of all faiths and non-faith were welcome to attend, and dialogues were facilitated in a “speed-dating” format, with diverse participants getting to know one another.
